hampers.com: An Accredited Real Living Wage Employer

We're proud to announce that hampers.com has been officially accredited as a Living Wage Employer!

We are proud to announce that our Living Wage commitment ensures everyone at hampers.com, whether on a temporary or permanent contract, will receive a minimum hourly wage of £9.90. This rate is significantly higher than the government minimum for over-23s, currently set at £9.50 per hour.

Located in the East of England, a region where over 12% of jobs pay less than the real Living Wage (around 533,000 jobs), hampers.com stands out by pledging to pay the real Living Wage. We believe in delivering a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work, reinforcing our dedication to our team and community.

“This has been something we’ve felt strongly about for some time now; we already pay all of our permanent staff considerably more than the Real Living Wage. Having the official accreditation means that we are now externally accountable for continuing this commitment to our team. It’s important to us that we extend this pledge to our temporary staff too, who are so important to our success at the busiest times of the year.”

Hannah Lia, Operations Director at hampers.com

Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that hampers.com has joined the movement of almost 9,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.

“They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as BurberryBarclays, Everton Football Club and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like hampers.com, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay."

The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum.

Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 300,000 people and put over £1.6 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers.

Purpose over Profit

At hampers.com, our commitment to our team is just one of the many ways we strive to ensure our business is a force for good, not just for profit.

We're proud to be carbon neutral, have earned a star from Best Companies, and secured the 59th spot on their league of 'Best Small Companies to Work For'.
