Do you charge for UK delivery?

Delivery is free to all addresses in the UK, including Highlands and Islands and Northern Ireland and normally takes 2-3 working days. We also offer a premium delivery option, including delivered next working day* or you can select a delivery date that suits the gifting occasions as far as three months in advance. For mainland UK, we also offer a Saturday delivery service, ideal for those not about during the week. Once your order has been delivered, we’ll send you an email confirmation of delivery.

Is there a receipt or anything else that might show the price when it arrives?

I don’t want the recipient to know how much the gift cost.

We fully understand that most orders made with us are bought as gifts, so we don’t add a receipt or any documentation inside the box aside from the personalised gift message you choose to include during checkout. Receipts and invoices are emailed only to you. We’ll never spoil the surprise or let the lucky recipient know how much their gift cost. 

However, if the gift is being delivered outside of the EU, we have to attach a proforma invoice (with a minimal value and stating that the parcel is a gift).

Can I request a delivery to be made in the morning, afternoon or evening?

Unfortunately we do not offer the ability to select a time-based delivery window, purely because delivery times depend on the courier’s volume of deliveries for the day. Typically deliveries are made during working hours, but may be extended into the evening during busy periods.

We also offer for a small fee, next day delivery for orders that choose this option at checkout. If placed before 2pm GMT, Monday to Thursday it will be sent on a 24hr courier service and should arrive the next day.  There is also a named day delivery option, to delay the delivery of your order up to 3 months in advance, perfect for Christmas!

Saturday delivery is available for an additional fee and available to the UK mainland home addresses.

Due to their location, we sadly cannot offer next day delivery to the following postcodes: KA27–KA28, KW1-KW17, PA20-PA49, PA60-PA80, PH19-PH26, PH30-PH44, PH49-PH50, ZE1-ZE99, IM1-IM99, PO30-PO41, TR21-TR25, IV63, IV36-IV56, IV1-IV32, HS1-HS99, AB1-AB56, GY, JE, BT1-BT99.

Why does it cost more to send a hamper to Ireland and the Channel Islands?

Aren’t they are both part of the United Kingdom?

Good question! Well, although Northern Ireland (postcodes starting with BT) is part of the UK, Southern Ireland (Eire) is not. The Channel Islands are part of the UK, but our couriers treat them as if they were part of Europe, due to the parcel still needing to clear customs on arrival.

We can also deliver a large selection of our gift boxes, trays and hampers worldwide. Country eligibility and various shipping costs can be found on each gifts’ product page. The prices shown in the product delivery details tab are additional to the hamper price and inclusive of VAT. Choose the country you wish to send the item to at checkout; this can be changed at any time before order is placed.

Customs clearance and paperwork

Many hampers are dispatched in the delivery country through our international agents, however some products are fulfilled from our UK distribution centre and, if delivered outside of the EU, are subject to clearance through local Customs. Although this does not normally cause delays, the timing of Customs clearance is outside of the control of Hampers or our international carriers, DHL International. Under worldwide shipping conventions, paperwork including a proforma invoice (with a minimal value and stating that the parcel is a gift) has to be attached to the parcel.

There are two methods of delivery for the United States of America:

One is that we send the parcel from the UK, however there are certain rules we need to adhere to for Custom regulations for USA-bound parcels. 

The second option is that the hamper is dispatched from within America and therefore avoids customs and delay.


Delivery to Canada also has two options - the same as those that apply for the USA, just with direct dispatch from within Canada. We are not currently dispatching hampers from the UK to Canada due to changes in Canadian customs rules.

Australia and New Zealand

Friends and family down under no longer need to miss out on gifts from overseas. With hampers.com you can send food and drink hampers and even flowers to Australia without Customs issues as our gifts are distributed directly from our partners within Australia.

Can I send my hamper internationally?

We have two options for international delivery:

  1. You can send a hamper from the UK and pay the applicable international delivery charge for your delivery destination. Delivery will be made on the date selected and show on your order confirmation.
  2. Find an item that we’ve clearly marked ‘Free Delivery’ for your chosen country of choice. All food and drink items for these hampers have already been delivered to the country you’re wanting to send a gift to, and can therefore be dispatched immediately and delivered within a few days.

Why are your overseas delivery prices so high compared to those in the UK?

Delivery is free in the UK, but to send your gifts further afield from here, we have to add on the additional cost that international delivery companies charge us for overseas delivery, including surcharges and customs charges.

All of our international deliveries go through our courier DHL, with all deliveries made within a few days using their Express Air Service. Many competitors use ground services, which as you can imagine takes much longer and may result in spoilt food. We won’t let that happen!

The cost of delivery is based on the size and weight of the parcel, as well as the destination, and so the prices vary depending on the gift or hamper you choose. Although they may seem high, they are actually far lower than it would cost a private individual to send a parcel of the same weight and size overseas.

Do you deliver to BFPO Addresses?

Unfortunately we cannot currently deliver to PO Box, BFPO addresses or similar.

What happens if the gift I’ve ordered arrives when nobody is home?

We know you can’t always plan for the person you’re gifting to be at home to collect the delivery, especially if you’re trying to surprise them and don’t want to give anything away by checking with them. If this happens, don’t worry. If the recipient isn’t home when delivery is attempted, the driver is authorised to leave your parcel with a neighbour or in a safe place, if it is appropriate and safe to do so. 

If the parcel is not signed for at the delivery address, the driver will leave a calling card noting if the parcel has been left with a neighbour, in a safe place or returned to the courier’s local depot – details of which will be on the calling card. A second delivery attempt should be made on the next available working day, so if all else fails then they won’t have to wait long!

Which couriers do you use?

Only ones that we trust! We use a variety of couriers based on the size and weight of the parcel and the delivery location, including DHL, DPD and UK Mail. Using multiple couriers means we can deliver gifts of all shapes wherever we need to, so you can have the best experience.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Saturday delivery is available to UK mainland home addresses for a small additional fee. Order by 2pm GMT Friday for Saturday delivery.

We do not currently offer a Sunday delivery service, however, it is available from time to time for occasions like Christmas, Mothers day and Fathers day, see checkout for availability.
